Our Scholarships
Each scholarship recognizes different strengths. From academic excellence to athletic achievement, we support the complete wrestler.

James "Rusty" Bright Scholarship
The Bright family is both proud and humbled to have a scholarship named in honor of our husband and father, James Rusty Bright. He would have been so honored to know that the community continues to support a program he founded over 60 years ago. Supporting participants of that program after they have graduated and are entering the next chapter of their lives is even more amazing. Thank you so much to everyone who makes this possible.
Coach Skip Laughlin Scholarship
Coach Laughlin and his family are honored to have their family name associated with this scholarship. During his 50 years of coaching wrestling, he has seen countless times the positive effect wrestling has had on student-athletes. The hard work and discipline crucial to wrestling have helped many of his former wrestlers, as well as his own children and grandchildren, achieve their goals in life. Being involved in wrestling and watching young people grow through the sport has been one of the great privileges of his life.
Coach Ken Pasiuk and Family Scholarship
Coach Pasiuk and his family are honored to have this scholarship associated with their name. Since planting their roots in Carrollton in 1998, it has been a privilege to help build a tradition of excellence within the wrestling program.
"Guiding our wrestlers and leading this program to a level respected statewide has been incredibly meaningful. More importantly, it has been a true privilege to help develop young men of character - individuals who have gone on to accomplish great things both on and off the mat. Wrestling has provided me the opportunity to help shape young men here at Carrollton, including my own sons and the many other amazing young men who have been part of this program. I have seen first hand the impact wrestling has in preparing them to face whatever challenges come their way. It has been an honor and a privilege to be trusted as the leader of the Carrollton wrestling program for so many years. Thank you"

Tom and Bonnie Shaw Family Scholarship
The Tom & Bonnie Shaw Family Scholarship is named in honor of Bryan Shaw's parents, Tom and Bonnie Shaw. The Shaw family is proud to be part of a scholarship effort that honors Carrollton Wrestling, its history, and the people who helped build it.
Bonnie Shaw shared that Tom Shaw, Bryan's father, who passed away in 2013, would have been extremely proud of what is happening today. Tom was not a coach, but he was a proud father, grandfather, and supporter of his family and Carrollton Wrestling. He saw first hand how the sport helped shape, inspire, and strengthen his sons and grandsons.
To see the Shaw family connected with the Coach "Skip" Laughlin, Coach Ken Pasiuk & Family, and James Rusty Bright scholarships would have meant a great deal to him. The Shaw family is honored to support a program that continues to develop young men through hard work, discipline, and the values taught through wrestling.

Previous Scholarship Recipients
These recipients were chosen not just for what they accomplished on the mat, but for who they became because of it. Each name represents a life shaped by Carrollton wrestling and a future we're proud to invest in.
